Month 2 in the S Family

Fiesty. Outgoing. Chatty. Nyah is out of her shell and in fact, I think it has been discarded somewhere never to be found again. She is independent, strong-willed, loud, silly, impatient, and brave. She is fiesty, outgoing, and chatty.

Nyah is also a user... only wanting to be held if it benefits her somehow. She will climb into someone elses arms if it gets her to food, to pet a puppy, to be put into a swing, to spin around until she is dizzy. Otherwise, leave her alone because she has a million things to do and cuddling and quiet time are simply not on her list.

One major highlight of the month was that, on October 27 to be exact , I received my first kisses from Nyah! She scrunches her whole face up to make the pucker and it is totally adorable! Mind you she only did it after the other kids did because she worships them and is also jealous of them when they get to close to me but I'll take what I can get.

I posted this video on my other blog but I love it so much, it is going here too... Nyah loves, love, loves, to dance.

She is starting to say her version of words and she has one for "up" and "shoes" but her true first word is "stop!" And yes, she says it with the exclamation point. She may have picked it up from me fussing at her to stop climbing on the sofa or dropping her food on the floor on purpose or she may have picked it up from me fussing at Evan to "Stop touching her; leave her alone!" Anyway, she loves the word, and puts her hand up to emphasize her point, and she says it often. She also does signs for eat, more, and all done/no more.

If you tell her to "roll" she will do a forward roll. She doesn't always make sure there is enough clearance though so she has rolled into multiple pieces of furniture and some humans. Pardon the laundry. Pardon my high-pitched, squeaky voice.

Notice all the times I comment on eating or have pictures of her eating? She does it a lot and it is also the one time she is still enough for more than one shot of the camera.

I have, and will continue to be, pretty hush-hush about our children's medical needs and in the case of our two daughters, their China beginnings as well. I believe those things are our children's stories and they can choose to share, or not, in the future. But since this is my "journal" I want to document that in mid-October, we received some very important information about Nyah that was definitely the biggest highlight of the month. It was an amazing phone call and so meaningful to us now, and certainly will be for Nyah when she understands. For the sake of Nyah's privacy, I am not going to share any more but know that Nyah and our family have been blessed and that we are humbled and grateful for the news received.

So anyway, our girl still rips out the hairclips and her toys of choice include golf balls and hockey sticks. A true S family fit!

She is too cute for words!!! I am so thankful for your good news!!! I also agree with Jody, the feisty girls all come to the US!!! Your post could be my post exactly just put in pictures of Sophie!!! She not only eats and drops her food on the floor, she has to have a zip lock bag of cheese its, goldfish, or doritoes beside her in the bed at night. She never eats them but they have to be there!!! Whatever works to get her to sleep!!! My son Joshua also oves to touch and aggravate Sophie and get her to scream!!! UGGHH!!!!

I am so glad to see your Jin Pei is home! We received our LOA for OUR Jin Pei on Halloween!! Can you believe that??? We really think there is a good chance we will be in China before Christmas. Unreal.
Congrats, and you have a beautiful family! (Emily used to dance like that when she was a baby, too!)
