Wednesday in Guangzhou

Today was our Consulate Appointment and since no cameras were allowed inside and we spent the morning packing and doing some last minute shopping, we took very few pictures. It would have been nice to have one final group picture at the consulate since our family was leaving from there to fly to Beijing and another family was taking the train to Hong Kong but there was no time. I so enjoyed meeting in person the others who endured the long LOA wait with us and, hint, hint, I hope to hear how they are doing!

The consulate appointment was short but sweet as now Nyah will be a citizen when we arrived in Newark on Friday. We have her passport and visa in hand and the official paperwork, until the follow-up social worker visits begin, is over!

Nyah was definitely over her sickness today but she has regressed as far as being independent. She cries if she is put down anywhere outside the hotel room.

We arrived in Beijing from our 2 1/2 hour flight after 11pm and checked into the hotel at 12. It will be a short night since we are meeting our guide at 8am! China regulations meant every one had to sign a form at check-in saying we would pay for fees, etc. even Nyah! Nyah was very restless on the flight and it makes me very nervous for the flight home! But she also slept terribly last night and so did I so we are both overtired and irritable!

Have a blast in Beijing. Tell Caleb to get me some good pictures of the BirdsNest. Hope you both get a good nights sleep!
